Commercial Operation Date for Cilacap 1x1,000 MW expansion 2 CFSPP

On November 7, 2019, After months of thorough and rigorous testing, synchonization and commissioning, PLTU Cilacap Expansion 2 with a capacity 1000 MW has successfully achieved Commercial Operation Date (COD).  The whole construction process took only 37 months from the initial groundbreaking in 2016 to completion and was ahead of schedule in 2019.

PLTU Cilacap Expansion 2 (1 × 1000 MW)  can start contributing to supply the reliable, efficient and environmentally friendly electrical energy to the Java-Bali electricity system. The capacity 945 MW will be used by PLN, and other 55 MW will be used by PT S2P to drive the engine in the Power Plant.

With the operation of PLTU Cilacap Expansion 2 (1x1000 MW), it will become the first largest power plant in Java Island. The Power Plant uses ultra-supercritical technology, which is environmentally friendly and will increase efficiency by up to 42 percent compare to previous technologies such as sub-critical and super-critical (32 percent).
