BALIKPAPAN - The State Electricity Company (PLN) continues to strengthen the electricity supply of the Mahakam Subsystem. Recently the 2 X 100 MegaWatt Kaltim steam power plant (PLTU) Teluk Kadere, Bontang Lestari has been operating.
"Unit 1 entered in October 2019 is currently operating at 100 MegaWatt, while Unit 2 will follow to enter the system," said PLN UPT Kaltimra Manager, Kuncoro Suryokusumo. He explained that the inclusion of electricity supply from the 2 units of PLTU engines with a capacity of 2 X 100 MW will strengthen the electricity of the Mahakam Subsystem. In addition to increasing the reliability of the Mahakam Subsystem electricity system, it will also reduce the basic cost of electricity production in East Kalimantan because all diesel-fueled diesel-fired power plants (PLTD) which are expensive will be stopped operating. He hopes that the existence of PLTU Kaltim 2 will have a positive impact on the surrounding community, because it will absorb local workers from the surrounding community.
With the successfull of Commercial Operation for Unit 1, PT D&C Engineering Company will continue to do their best and hard work to achieve the COD for Unit 2 as well.
